AJ2 2-3/4" x 0.115R nail is used for framing. This nail is harder to pull out. This nail can be used in lieu of a 8d common and 16d box.

The AJ2 Steel 2-3/4" x 0.115R Ring Shank nail is a type of nail commonly used in framing applications or any wood to wood applications. When it says it, "replaces the following 8d Common to 16d Box, it means it." See ICC report # ESR-5210.
